Reskilling And Redeploying Leaders For The Post-Pandemic World -
It’s No Longer Why But How
Even prior to the pandemic, organizations realized the need to reskill their workforces to address a rapidly changing world of work. Now, as a result of Covid-19, research has determined that the emphasis on building new capability has increased dramatically.
In a survey conducted in late 2020 by McKinsey, 59% of global leaders reported that, prior to Covid-19, growing capability for long-term growth was “very or extremely important.” Currently, that percentage is 78%. That perspective was reinforced by the recently published DDI’s 2021 Global Leadership Forecast. The more than 15,000 global leaders participating in the research indicated that “developing the next generation of leaders” was now the #1 challenge troubling CEOs.
Organizations are quickly moving from conversations around why we should reskill to how this challenge can be specifically addressed. But where do you start and how do you approach such a significant undertaking?
